Skills for Security Welcomes New Director General
Skills for Security, the sector skills body for the UK’s private security industry, has appointed Terri Jones as its new director general.
Jones, who joined the company Aug. 12, will provide strategic direction by focussing on generating new business, as well as assuming responsibility for its successful financial and commercial performance.

She previously held senior positions within relevant organisations, including the sector skills council ProSkills and the Learning and Skills Improvement Service. The company said in press release that her expertise and successful track record will be “particularly beneficial to Skills for Security as it enters a period of stability and growth.”
Interim chief executive Mike Britnell said in the release:
I am pleased to announce that we have recruited Ms Terri Jones to the position of director general. She has an extensive background in skills and education services and the board of directors believes she is ideally placed to lead Skills for Security in the next stage of its development.
Jones said in the release:
I am pleased to join the team at Skills for Security at what is an exciting period in the organisation’s development, and am looking forward to cementing the company’s position as the leading training body for the whole security sector.
