It’s a song about breaking out of jail, which is a security issue. Definitely.
Avid readers of Songs About Security – there must be some, surely? – will have noticed that this is the second time a song called ‘Jailbreak’ has been featured – AC/DC, obviously, being the first.
In both videos some fairly mediocore explosions have featured – AC/DC’s no doubt due to budget constraints, Thin Lizzy being affected by the strong winds as they come on stage outside the Sydney Opera House in 1978.
I’m not comparing the songs, but I do think AC/DC may have the advantage in terms of geography, or maybe investigative skills. Phil Lynott sings: ‘Tonight there’s gonna be a jailbreak/somewhere in this town’. I’d suggest the local jail (or gaol, or prison) might be the first place to start looking…
