Songs about security: Robots (Humans Are Dead)

Earlier this week I brought you a story about the new Security Guard Robot from Samsung Techwin – a high-tech surveillance machine that is optionally equipped with a genuine machine gun, often used for killing people.

Fortunately, New Zealand’s musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords – stars of their own self-titled programme on HBO in the US and BBC4 in the UK – have a song in their repertoire which is perfect for the futuristic SGR-1.

It describes a a nightmarish dystopia in which robots have taken over the world.

The version here is from a TV special filmed before their series hit biggish.

Viewers may also remember the Conchords – Jemaine Clement and Brett McKenzie – attempting to film a music video for the song with their bumbling manager Murray (played by Rhys Darby) on the television show. This is not that version!

Warning – there is a tiny smidgen of foul launguage contained herein. Proceed at your own risk.
