We’ve really gone from the ridiculous to the sublime this week, with Massive Attack’s subtle ode to urban security and the desire to protect your loved ones following hot on the heels of U Can’t Touch This.
This song particularly focuses on night-time security, so there’s definitely an element of security lighting issues involved. And with winter nights drawing in, that’s one of the concerns that will be taking up large swathes of our time and attention shortly.
Out of interest’s sake, I’ve compiled a top five Songs About Security so far. These are the songs that have been viewed the most times since we launched this feature in May – so obviously the ones that have been on the site the longest have had the most chance of being seen.
Still, it makes for compelling reading:
- 1. Beyonce – Ring the Alarm
- 2. Iron Maiden – The Prisoner
- 3. Bucks Fizz – The Camera Never Lies
- 4. Stone Roses – Breaking Into Heaven/Eddie Holman – She’s Wanted in Three States
- 5. Jane’s Addiction – Been Caught Stealing
