The access control system, supplied by Norbain SD, also saved time and money for Repton – also known as Foremarke School – by providing a new time and attendance system.
Spectre installed the Net 2 Paxton Access Control system, at the school because the various buildings are spread out over a 66-acre site and a public road runs through it.
All the buildings were secured with locks and keys which caused a number of access problems.
Now Bursar, John McGahan, can programme the opening and closing times of all the doors from his office so that students can have access whenever they need it.
Cleaners and workmen can be given key fobs for access out of hours and in the holidays and when they are in the building the doors automatically lock, keeping them safe.
Said the Bursar: “We currently have a clocking in/out machine that is rather outdated and difficult to maintain. The Net2 software allows us to record time and attendance with the use of the fobs, so we’re going to switch to using this in the very near future.
“The system is saving us time and money”
He said Spectre provided “an excellent service” and the school would be using the installer in an expansion project.
