The gaskets expand when exposed to fire, providing a stopping seal for 60 minutes and are said to remain effective when holes are made in them to make way for cables. They have been independently tested to BS EN and BS 476 Part 20 & Pt. 22 and are insulated with PVC to prevent short circuits occurring. They can be used in wall systems upto and including 67db sound reduction without loss of the wall performance and, it is claimed, they are rot proof and maintenance free.
The gaskets are available for single and twin switch socket pads for both surface and recessed shallow and deep boxes, and as circular pads for ceiling roses and BESA boxes.
