Titan protects O2’s ‘Performance Wall’

The Uxbridge-based company is helping to protect the “Performance Wall”, a giant screen that delivers information to visitors at the former Millennium Dome.

Titan, an NSI Fire Gold company, installed Wagner UK’s Titanus ASD system which can detect fire at a very early stage – often before visible smouldering and before intense smoke develops.

Highly sensitive Top-Sens ASD units are protecting the display and electronics unit behind the wall and Pro-Sens units are protecting the electrical switchgear.

Logic-Sens signal processing analyses the air sample and provides the “earliest possible” smoke detection while safely eliminating false alarms such as cigarette smoke and diesel fumes.

The range has been developed for areas where aesthetics are important, for buildings with large open spaces or for environments that are too harsh for traditional smoke detectors.

The O2 is one of the UK’s most advanced music, sports and entertainments venues and will host some of the Olympics 2012 events.
