Vivotek recording software and cameras available through Norbain

Vivotek said: “Vivotek have become the first company in the world to offer a Scalable Video Coding (SVC), next-generation H.264 based video codec. The SVC turns a single video stream into multiple layers, allowing video data to be divided into different resolutions, picture sizes, and frame rates. Saving on network bandwidth, this flexible allocation of video data can reduce bandwidth usage and storage capacity needs by up to 70%, and also reduce loads on CMS servers and CPUs.”

The company’s iPhone app is also offered through Norbain. Enabling users to monitor locations off-site, by providing access to surveillance camera video on their iOS device, the app has been designed to enable the monitoring of live video for hundreds of cameras. Theycan be managed by centralised management software VAST, or standard recording software ST7501.

In addition to remote monitoring of live video, iViewer provides ‘extremely flexible playback options’, Norbain said, including the ability to view archived footage after initiating searches by date and time, configurable playback duration times, and variable-speed fast-forward and reverse playback. iViewer has management features such as the ability to remotely control ePTZ/PTZ cameras’ pan, tilt, and zoom. Users can even capture video frames for archival and later review.

Vivotek’s Supreme series IP network cameras are also on offer, including true day/night cameras, fixed domes, speed domes, and fisheye domes.

Earlier this year Vivotek scooped an Camera Excellence Award for the world’s best HDcctv and IP HD/megapixel technology, at Securtech 2011, in Taiwan. Its IP8162P 2MP Full HD camera emerged as a winner from among 19 entrants.

“Vivotek’s depth of state-of-the-art IP products gives installers the ability to create effective and reliable IP surveillance systems,” Buzz Coates, Norbain’s divisional director of branded CCTV, said.

“Utilizing Vivotek’s IP Network Cameras, users can build a completely scalable, high-performance wired or wireless IP surveillance system that can be used to locally or remotely monitor and protect people, assets and infrastructure.”
