Products from Eurobond’s Firemaster Extra and Rockspan Extra ranges have been tested by Warrington Fire Research, and achieved up to 180 minutes integrity and insulation fire resistance, at spans of up to 12 metres.
The company explains that this performance means specifiers can now achieve the required levels of fire resistance using systems that considerably reduce panel installation time, by means of eliminating the need for mechanical stitching of the joints. The improved spanning capabilities of Rockspan Extra also eliminate, or drastically reduce, the requirement for secondary steelwork, and improve installation speed.
Twelve metre spans of both products were tested at 100mm, 125mm, 150mm and 175mm thicknesses to BS 476 Part 22. In addition, at a thickness of 175mm with a 0.7mm steel face to both sides, the product achieved 180 minutes integrity and insulation fire resistance, without the need for mechanical stitching of the joints. This, says Eurobond still complies with guidance from the insurance approval company, Factory Mutual Research Corporation, on recommended fire characteristics.
Firemaster Wall Extra is a fire-rated wall panel designed for internal use while Rockspan Extra is an exterior composite wall panel which is available with micro-rib or architecturally flat external profiles.
