Warehouses and offices destroyed in large fire

[

A number of warehouses and office buildings in east London have been destroyed after a large fire. Around 75 firefighters were called to the scene in Church Road, Leyton last  Sunday night at around 10.50pm.

Speaking to thisislondon.co.uk Charles Brown, watch manager at Leyton fire station said: “Two warehouses and an office complex were alight. My main concerns were to ensure crew safety as it was a raging inferno and to protect the buildings that hadn’t been affected.

25 people were evacuated from nearby homes as a precaution.

Crews were still at the scene on the following afternoon damping down the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
