David Dickinson, CE of the BSIA said it showed that such measures “have enormous potential to lower crime rates. “Unfortunately, householders without these measures are more vulnerable. We have long believed that such valuable crime prevention measures should be given tax breaks.”
– THE BSIA HAS ALSO welcomed the Government’s consultation paper on regulation of the private security industry in Northern Ireland. BSIA director of membership and technical support services, Alex Carmichael, said: “Our members welcome the proposals to extend licensing to Northern Ireland. This will enable the authorities to remove the minority criminal element from the industry, which unfortunately has a disproportionate effect on the industry’s reputation.”
