Wisdom passed on to Panasonic students

The five new work placement students have joined the EU marketing team on a year long placement to build upon its business growth overseas.

The placement students will be working alongside professionals on projects including events and exhibitions, website and portal design, advertising, and media relations to support and strengthen the existing central marketing team. The newly appointed recruits include Luke Hansford who will be responsible for e-marketing, Sheryl Meech for marketing and events, and Sophie Pettengale for public relations.

Following from the success of the previous year, Panasonic has again made the decision to place two work placement students within its European offices. Ilaria Tuninetti will be based in Paris and Loredana Tedesco in Milan to maintain strong relations across Europe for the Systems and Solutions team.

Returning students
They were joined by Nicole Pearson and Minesh Patel, former placement students who have now returned to Panasonic in full-time roles. Nicole is live marketing assistant, focusing on exhibitions and events, while Minesh is European SAP CRM administrator.

Rob Healey, European head of marketing at Panasonic System Solutions said: “The decision to take on students in local countries outside the central marketing team is one which is crucial in order for Panasonic System Solutions to further build upon its existing EU structure. The students will be working closely with the Central marketing team based in the UK to translate particular work for the press, sales and marketing in each country to improve the spread of communication within and outside the business”.

Sophie Pettengale, placement student assisting the PR team, said: “I feel very proud to have been given the opportunity to spend my placement year at Panasonic and have been warmly welcomed within the Systems Solutions team. I have had excellent training providing me with the confidence to take on my role as PR assistant.”

Paris, Milan, Bracknell
The central marketing students are currently working at Panasonic House in Bracknell alongside the EU students, who will each have flown out to their respective countries within two weeks.

The students were treated to a thrilling day of presentation and discussion from editors Brian Sims (SMT) and Alan Hyder (Security Installer), group advertising manager Sam Mitcham, group events manager Katherine Mannix, and IFSEC international accounts manager Kristan Johnstone – as well as the editor of info4security.com (me).

After the formalities, the party convened to a nearby bar for a few refreshing drinks, before the Panasonic group headed off for an evening of karaoke – and a morning of hangovers…
