The sci-fi movie Minority Report demonstrated futuristic security technologies that enabled Pre-Crime chief – actor Tom Cruise – to watch and manage moving images on a large glass screen with his hands.
Now fiction is turning into fact with the launch of Avigilon’s Control Centre (ACC) 5.0 which integrates with Microsoft Kinect for Windows – enabling security personnel to manage surveillance technology through hand gestures and voice commands.
The new software is being demonstrated this week at ASIS 2012 in Philadelphia, USA and will be available in early 2013.
ACC 5.0 also includes ‘crash-proof’ enterprise server management, intelligent virtual matrix, and introduces what is said to be an industry first – collaborative, real-time investigations.
The ACC 5.0 software with High-Definition Stream Management (HDSM) technology unites the best from the IT, web design, and video game industries, says Avigilon, so security professionals can easily and intuitively manage video footage from unlimited analogue and megapixel cameras.
“Avigilon Control Center 5.0 is a significant leap for video management software in terms of ease of use and advanced functionality,” said Keith Marett, vice president of marketing and communications. “Security professionals can search faster, increase productivity and bring significant return on investment to their organizations with our latest ACC software.”
