By attending the training course and passing the ASET Certificate for CCTV Operatives (Public Space Surveillance), the officers are now eligible to apply for an SIA licence. The training – which was delivered by DataCom Interactive – is designed to demonstrate that operators have undergone extensive and rigorous instruction, and now possess the necessary degree of skill to perform their licensable duties.
The candidates were presented with their awards by ASET chief executive Chris Daniel (pictured above, second from far right, back row) and Simi Bath (far left), assistant director of development at the Security Industry Authority. Also pictured are (second and third from left, back row) Michael Wilkinson and Andrew Holmes of DataCom Interactive and (far right, back row) Peter Ryans, the CCTV manager.
