As well as supporting CBC’s Ganz, Ganz Lite and Pixel Pro cameras, ViMS also supports a wide variety of other manufacturers’ equipment, enabling the system to expand and integrate with existing sites. ONVIF support is also available.
Santosh Muniswamappa, CBC’s commercial head of IP surveillance solutions, said that the ViMS Suite can be used in ‘enterprise class’ applications through its Command product, or smaller scale surveillance systems via an Accendo one-box plug-and-play IP unit – for viewing, recording and management of up to 16 IP video channels.
Core features, says CBC Europe, include broadcast quality video, low bandwidth transmission of video, a 24/7 rated server and storage units, and a simple easy-to-use remote web-based user interface.
End-to-end management solution
“The ViMS platform is an end-to-end integrated media and security management solution,” said Mr Santosh.
“By treating each feed as a device, we can select, view, command and control an unlimited number of device feeds – for example analogue or IP cameras, DVRs, intercoms and audio, intruder alarms, remote PC systems and a variety of other inputs including fire alarms and access control.
“These feeds can be local or remote; all we need is connectivity to use and manage them. The net result is coordinated and instant emergency response when and where it’s really needed.”
