I4S video: Electrified fence tested with deluge system

We’ve just had the wettest April for over 100 years in the UK, but this dramatic video shows an electrified fence coping with a deluge system that’s said to produce a thousand gallons a minute.

The system – itself specifically designed to protect a data centre from the risk of fire spreading from a neighbouring building – was released over a high voltage PulseSecure set-up from Harper Chalice.

The video captures the dramatic moment when the water is pumped into the system and released to create a protective spray along the entire side of the building.

“This is the first time anything like this has been attempted,” explained Harper Chalice’s managing director Graham Harper.

“We’re pleased to confirm that the PulseSecure system worked without any fault despite being subjected to conditions that are much more extreme than would be experienced even in the harshest weather.”
