IFSEC International has agreed an exclusive partnership with Euralarm that will result in a new half-day conference at this year’s show.
Taking place at London’s ExCeL on 17 June 2015 ‘Smart Cities: Safer & Secure’ will explore how those bearing responsibility for protecting key assets and infrastructure – from security professionals to government officials – can make urban environments smarter, safer and more secure.
Prominent speakers from manufacturing, systems integration and civic authorities among other sectors will debate the opportunities and challenges posed by the ‘internet of things’ and smart technologies – not least relating to integration, information sharing and cyber security.
Euralarm – an association of European manufacturers, installers and service providers in the security and fire fields – is very much in the vanguard when it comes to setting and raising standards within the industry.
Webinar
IFSEC International will also host an interactive webinar on the same theme in the build-up to the 2015 event. Taking place in April the ‘Smart Cities: Safer & Secure’ webinar will explore similar topics with reference to a host of case studies of successful integrations between networked security and fire systems.
Webinar participants will be invited pose questions to a panel of experts from across the industry.
The webinar will be open to participants from across the globe and will be freely available via www.ifsecglobal.com.
Martin Harvey, head of regulatory affairs EMEA at Tyco /ADT and Euralarm, says: “IFSEC International 2015 will provide Euralarm with a formidable opportunity to present a cohesive narrative on how today’s smart cities are being made safer.
“Product developments and networked solutions have become critical aspects of smart city concepts and Euralarm is pleased to be able to impart expertise and guidance on a range of case studies and experiences.
“Anyone with a strategic interest in the protection of key assets and infrastructure is invited to participate in both the conference and webinar.”
Says IFSEC International event director Gerry Dunphy: “We are really excited to expand our partnership with Euralarm this year.
“IFSEC International, along with FIREX International and IfsecGlobal.com, are fantastic platforms to help engage with our shared global audiences on such a key topic. The development of Safe Cities is a major addition to IFSEC’s strategic offering this year and a leading conference such as ‘Smart Cities: Safer & Secure’ is a statement of the direction IFSEC is now taking.
“The webinar in April will be an excellent introduction to what is available at ExCeL in June and helps to form a fully joined-up offering for the Safe Cities audience.”
