Mobotix launches shock-resistant DualDome camera

Dubbed the D14 DualDome, the camera has 6,2 megapixels and is a more powerful model than the company’s earlier D12 camera.

The D14 has been made with two separately adjustable camera modules that have each been built with 3,1 megapixels and can be combined to create one image. It has a digital PTZ and no mechanical moving parts.

Offering 6.2 megapixels

The camera has been made with 90 degrees wide angle and tele lenses and is built to monitor a scene while at the same time, the tele lens can record portrait photos.

The two 90 degrees lenses can also allow a 180 degrees recording, for example when monitoring an entire parking lot by one camera installed on the wall, Mobotix said.

With its digital sensor switching function, the D14 can also be used as a day/night camera, the company said, since it can be equipped with one color and one black/white module for colour and sensitivity.

Recording for weeks integrated

The D14 includes motion detection built to trigger both the recording as well as the alarm notification via email or VoIP call as a two-way communication. The integrated DVR can hold up to 64 GB memory and record for weeks without a PC, according to Mobotix. If needed, the memory can be extended to terabytes with an external NAS drive.

The camera offers USB and MxBus interfaces for extension modules such as I/O, GPS or RS232. Its microphone and speaker have been supported by new audio functions that include echo elimination.

The recording and playback software has been included inside the camera and made accessible via a Web browser.
