The camera utilises ‘SurroundVideo’ software to run its eight megapixel camera format. The AV8360 comprises of four 2 megapixel cameras, each covering 90 deg, in order to provide full coverage over 360 deg of view.
The AV8360 offers panoramic views and high frame rates to allow real time high definition digital video surveillance with up to 24 times the resolution of the best analogue surveillance cameras, Arecont says.
It features “massively-parallel MegaVideo image processing architecture capable of sustaining over 6 billion operations per second, this provides functionality unavailable in other high-resolution cameras”.
The system can provide four 1600×1200 channels at 22fps or 800×600 at 88fps.
The super high resolution of AV8360 allows efficient no moving parts zoom windows to be instantly re-positioned across the entire panorama. These zoom windows are delivered as separate video streams simultaneously with the complete full field of view panoramic video, thus eliminating the trade-off between magnification and area coverage as well as avoiding costly and not so reliable electro-mechanical PZT systems, Arecont says.
Playback of high-resolution digital archives allows “zoom-after-event” on any object in the field of view. Onboard real-time motion detection with size and sensitivity controls for up to 64 separate motion detection zones per channel is supplied as standard.
Power is drawn from a Power-over-Ethernet switch removing the need to supply a separate power supply. This system is now available in H.264 interface format.
