Second series of CCTV Cities co-stars JVC monitors

The eight part second series goes to air on October 6 at 10pm, and is again hosted by investigative journalist Donal MacIntrye. The show looks at town centre CCTV from a control room operator’s perspective – although it has come in for some criticism, including from our own Brian Sims.

Paul Crompton, executive producer at programme maker Steadfast Television, said: “CCTV Cities is a new action documentary series that has been allowed unique access to CCTV control rooms to see how the operators and police combine to catch criminals and record antisocial behaviour around the clock. It’s a real adventure and insight into how this technology is used to aid control room operators.”

Yash Patel, executive director, CCTV Europe at JVC Professional Europe, said: “Our small to large-sized monitors are made for durability and reliability. It’s really exciting that some of these have been seen in a television programme that captures thhe use of technology in today’s busy control room environments.

“This engaging show also represents the fact that CCTV is playing an increasingly important role in our everyday lives.”
