Three striking projects were submitted by the company: a major scheme comprising networked access control, alarm monitoring and CCTV for British American Tobacco’s disaster recovery facility in London, an access control, alarm monitoring and CCTV surveillance scheme with turnstile control for Tishman Speyer Properties at London’s Millbank Tower and a global access control network for client El Paso at the London Money Trading Headquarters. Excellent references were provided by the clients for all three submissions.

Good references distinguished this company which submitted three examples of work undertaken: a 48-camera CCTV system and control room at UBS Warburg, London EC2; the entire reconfiguring of software controlling the access, intruder and CCTV systems at Dell Computers, Bracknell and an integrated access control, CCTV and intruder alarm system at the Government ministerial offices in London. Universal’s philosophy is to deliver total customer satisfaction.
ADT Fire and Security
Ben Van Der Willik is a senior residential installer based at ADT’s Leicester branch. His work has resulted in many letters of praise from customers. Ben makes it a priority to attend jobs with a tidy appearance, gives good advice in siting of equipment and is meticulous about paperwork. He trains the customer on using a given system, and will not leave the end user’s site until he’s completely satisfied that the customer is confident in using that system.
id technology group
The Judgng Panel was particularly impressed with the letters of praise for id’s installer team received from satisfied customers. The company works closely with clients and their management agencies to ensure that an installation does everything that it should. Two installations of which id is particularly proud are the security strategy for the Powerhouse chain of stores, and casino surveillance for top gaming premises within the Rank Group.
Pearl Fire and Security
The company is expert in the design, installation and maintenance of everything connected with fire detection and security provision, including CCTV and access control – as evidenced by a string of recent awards. Pearl is committed to "total customer satisfaction", and regularly carries out a satisfaction survey in which candid response is encouraged as part of the aftercare procedure. Clients who praised Pearl’s installers included Anglia University, Skanska and Carillion.
