In a concerted bid to crack down on railway crime – which costs the industry no less than GB pound 150 million every year – the British Transport Police (BTP) has taken delivery of three fast response motorcycles courtesy of leasing specialist Motorcycle Management.
Some of the worst affected areas in the country are the south London Boroughs where the new Honda Transalp bikes will be used by BTP. Nippy in traffic, they’ll allow police response teams (who are trained as part of the package offered by Motorcycle Management, which is supported by Network Rail) to react swiftly to urgent call-outs. The bikes’ design enables them to access almost any type of railway property.
