As Security Management Today was passing for press, we learned that the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) has announced a new appendix to its ‘Security Systems Policy 2000’ document enabling end users to apply for a URN for detector-activated systems on the basis that the system is BS 8418-compliant.
Speakers at the BSIA seminars will be drawn from a panel of experts to include Adam Wiseberg (chairman of the BSIA’s CCTV Section), Barry Faiers of the Association of British Insurers and Inspector Ken Meanwell of Lincolnshire Police.
The seminars are being held on 3 November (Manchester), 5 (Glasgow), 6 (Newcastle), 12 (Bristol), 19 (Midlands) and on the 25 (Elstree).
