State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

‘Police list’ of installers should be resurrected

History may often be a lesson that we fail to heed, be it good or bad.

The availability of information on engineers varies with the local district, so what is wrong with the Chief Constable of any given area saying yes or no to any engineer working in that area? That is, of course, providing there is a right of appeal in case any error should occur.

This is the system that worked for many years (the now no longer available police recognised/approved list of installers).

So let’s take a positive step back and make use of local intelligence, combined with local needs to determine if a group or individual should be granted leave to operate within any given area.
