Alarm is ‘next generation’

The company says the product, due on the market from September/October, is the first in the market to introduce the latest embedded broadband technology.

MD, Keith Donovan said it will allow users to connect to their alarm system and monitor their home when they are away.

If an incident such as a fire, break-in or accident occurs, users will be alerted by SMS and e-mail They will then be able to use an internet browser to see what is happening and replay what has happened.

“It provides fantastic peace of mind,” he said.

Unlike web-based cameras, the system is not dependent on the home PC or installed software, and there is no need for wires.

The system is easily installed with no need for complex software as it has an internal web server that provides all the necessary screen control and command.

Visonic is now working on an extension to allow images and messages to be passed direct to mobile phones, expected early in 2006.

l National figures show the UK’s broadband connections have increased by 84 per cent, and now make up 47 per cent of all internet connections.
