Gardiner buy-out sets ADI on European trail
The decision to buy Gardiner is a reflection of Honeywell’s campaign to strengthen ADI’s position in Europe. Likely to be completed in the first half of this year, the transaction is subject to regulatory review.
For the past 12 months, Honeywell has been expanding ADI into Europe, which currently boasts 34 sites in 14 countries worldwide. With their headquarters based in Paris and 75 branch locations in 10 European countries, Gardiner’s position as a leading security systems distributor and annual turnover of 215 million euros, will build further on ADI’s European presence.
“This agreement will complement both ADI’s and Gardiner Groupe Europe’s strengths to offer the best solutions to the market, while creating one of the most efficient distribution networks for security products in EMEA,” said Tom Polson, president of ADI. “By expanding our global presence we’ll improve our efficiencies, broaden our inventory and develop programmes that directly benefit our customers.”
Jean-Francois Gazielly, chief executive officer of Gardiner, said his company would bring “a strong multi-cultural European skill-set and market knowledge to ADI’s recent expansion programme in Europe. He added: “In the present trend of consolidation of the professional security market, this acquisition is a vote of confidence and recognition of our performance as a leading company in our field, and I believe there will be great opportunities for Gardiner.”
