An Entro at Evelina: Bewator secures the children
To help ensure the security and safety of its patients and staff, the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London is now benefiting from the installation of Bewator’s Entro 5 access control system.
The state-of-the-art children’s hospital is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and boasts 140 bed spaces – including a 20-bed Paediatric Intensive Care Unit for the sickest children and three operating theatres. The seven-storey, glass-fronted building is themed around the natural world and designed – at least in part – by the children themselves.
This hospital’s management team places safety and security at the top of its agenda. Entro 5 – the latest variant of Bewator’s popular Entro series – was chosen to be the security solution for the hospital due to its extensive functionality and scalability. It’s a modular access control system which can be used to control more than 500 doors with 20,000 access cards. At the Evelina, the Entro set-up is being used to secure 118 access points (for example, at entrances to wards and theatres and for high level security).
The latest edition of Entro brings a range of additional functionalities for end users. A fundamental feature is the segment controller, which has been designed to give database retrieval and upload in emergency situations. There is also global anti-pass back with no PC.
