State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

From zero to 360 degrees

Cameras from Axis Communications, including four PoE network cameras, together with two video servers to digitise output from four legacy analogue cameras, have been installed, together with Milestone XProtect video management software.

Zerodegrees co-founder, Nick Desai, has had a preference for discrete deployment of surveillance cameras to deter against bad behaviour in his nightclubs and bars. “Many nightclubs employ strong arm tactics at the door to keep undesirables out. We decided to go down the technology route to deter bad behaviour because, in principle, we wanted to be welcoming to everyone.”

The restaurant has already seen the system prove its worth when the theft of a night’s takings was caught on camera, with the subsequent prosecution of the culprit.

Managers at the restaurant are also planning to integrate the video with cash till data using Milestone’s XProtect Transact software.
