Thermo CCTV for Fife Police

Supplied and installed by Perth-based Scottish Communications, the sophisticated 360 degree PTZ thermal imaging camera enhances Fife Police’s crime detection abilities by being able to locate people who are trying to conceal themselves, as well as for locating missing persons and in search and rescue operations.

The GB pound 15,000 thermo-imaging system was imported from the USA under special licence by Scottish Communications, which has also taken over the maintenance and servicing contract for the Fife Police CCTV van.

Scottish Communications has also made it onto the small screen recently, after supplying CCTV monitoring equipment for use in the production of Channel 4 police thriller Low Winter Sun. The company supplied six cameras set up in the Edinburgh-based programme’s police interview room and morgue, which linked back to a DVR at police control.
