BusinessWatch announces major expansion

When Jonathan Wakerley set up his installation company 13 years ago he offered domestic intruder alarms and a rapid response service.

Now the company has 3,000 domestic and commercial customers, employs 60 staff and has an turnover of more that GB pound 2m pa – and Wakerley, group MD of The BusinessWatch Group, has announced ambitious expansion plans.

Over the years the company has expanded its offering and now specialises in intruder and fire alarm systems, telecommunications and guarding.

In a major restructuring it has been divided into four groups to streamline procedures and focus resources. Each division has a managing director who will drive the business forward.

BusinessWatch UK Holdings Ltd, based in Orton Southgate, Peterborough, has been formed as the umbrella company for four branded limited companies: Fire and Security, Telecommunications, Security Services and Group Services.

Wakerley remains at the helm of Fire and Security and Group Services, Richard Olsen is MD of Security Services and the company is currently in the process of appointing for the Telecommunications post.

Within 12 months the group is planning to double its workforce – mainly in the Security Services business which provides security guards, rapid response and dog handlers. By 2012, turnover is expected to hit GB pound 15 million.

Wakerley is aiming to expand BusinessWatch regionwide.

“We offer a one stop security shop for a range of customers from large multi-site operations and small single site businesses to domestic customers,” he said. “We are confident we have the products, knowledge and people to ensure we meet our targets.”

To coincide with the restructure, the group has rebranded, with new logos on staff uniforms, vehicles and stationery. It has also revamped its website at www.businesswatchgroup.co.uk

“We wanted a new corporate image which reflected how the business has grown and developed while not alienating existing customers”, said Wakerley.
