IP monitors accidents in Thailand
The company’s IP Camera CAM-5320 and IP Speed Dome Came 6610 have been installed on the Phapradang ring road as part of a real-time traffic monitoring solution.
All of the cameras in the installation are connected by fiber optic cables within an LAN environment. ACTi say this allowed video to be transmitted as soon as the installer plugged the network cable into the media converter.
In a central control building, the system integrator set up three PCs with ACTi’s “Streaming Activator” software for video management. Two PCs are used for previewing and another is used as a management server with storage.
A spokesperson from ACTi said, “For traffic application, the most important thing is getting real-time traffic situation in central control building. They need to monitor the traffic flow and see if there is any accident happening.”
ACTi claim that their MPEG-4 IP products provide D1 (720×576) resolution at 25fps and utilise low bandwidth and storage size. Using the system, real-time video streams are recorded directly on to the PCs.
