SENKOADL lens a hand to Polish university

The University of Lodz, southwest of Warsaw, has the Japanese firm’s 3-8.5mm lenses installed on a total of 50 cameras across the site.

Dubbed the ‘Manchester of Eastern Europe’, Lodz has a student population of 42,000. SENKOADL say the new CCTV system has greatly improved their security.

Mr Jacek Cegielski, a director of SENKOADL, said:

“SENKOADL’s lens offerings work well with the cameras currently being specified in Poland. The units excel in day-night applications since they accommodate the focus shift between white and IR light.”

He continued: “The camera/lens assemblies are operating externally and contribute to the safety of students and staff as they move around the campus from teaching facilities to residential and sports areas. The university authorities are expanding the CCTV system as well as replacing older equipment.”

The 3-8.5mm varifocal units, which are mounted on Bosch and Samsung cameras at Lodz, are 1/3″ format with an iris range of F1.0-C. Iris drive is manual and the lens has a CS mount. The horizontal angle of view (1/3″) is 90.5 degrees -33.6 degrees and (1/4″) 67.2 degrees -25.2 degrees . Minimum object distance is 0.2m and dimension are o35 x 46mm. The lenses each weigh 51g.
