Biometric fingerprint lock launched
The battery-operated product, which is being marketed under the Lancashire company’s Fortessa range, can store up to 100 different fingerprints.
Challenger says the FTFL1 locks are easy to install and that they come with a mechanical manager key, which allows authorised personnel to override access in the event of an emergency. All models come with a low battery warning feature and an external PP3 low battery override as standard.
Made of cast steel, the FTFL1 locks let one ‘master fingerprint’ add or remove others from the system. For instance, a company director can add and remove staff as they move around the business and their access requirements change. This facility for removing individual fingerprints should also eliminate the need for complete re-programming of the system if changes need to be made or accounts deleted.
The locks are available in left and right-hand models, making them suitable for most types of doors. Challenger’s other target markets include schools, hospitals and residential buildings.
Visit the Challenger website for further information on the Fortessa fingerprint lock and other Challenger products. Alternatively, you can call them on 01253 791888.
