APT barriers installed at Royal Mail depot

The installation is part of the larger refurbishment contract at the centre, led by Vale Building Services, and APT’s equipment was specified by Cardiff-based architects Powell Dobson.

The heavy-duty barriers are said to be ideal for industrial sites with a frequent traffic flow because their strong barrier arms provide effective security control.

APT claims they are particularly useful for very wide roads and openings and they can be fitted with a double curtain to offer added security. Various models are available and the barrier arms can be made up to eight metres long.

The company’s medium capacity security barriers have been designed to improve security at sites and feature a fast operating action. APT claims advanced technology in the motion control mechanism protects components from the stress of the high-speed operation. The medium capacity barriers are available from two to six metres in length.

Both barriers can be upgraded with stop discs, pole lights, a sensing safety edge, warning sounders and a flashing beacon.
