Lars Blecko has been appointed the new managing director at Loomis AB, Securitas’ cash handling division. Blecko succeeds Hakan Ericson, who took on the role last year with a remit to list Loomis on the Stock Exchange. 49-year-old Blecko has been managing director and CEO at Rottneros AB for the past eight years. He has also worked for the Du Pont Group in the UK.

Forward Vision (manufacturer of the MIC1 or ‘Metal Mickey’ camera range) has boosted its sales team by naming Daniel Meyrick as senior sales executive serving clients in the south of England. Daniel joins after a five-year spell at CNL where he gained a wealth of knowledge, particularly in the area of IP-based security integration solutions.

Jeremy Hockham – managing director of Bosch Security Systems in the UK – has just been promoted to take over the company’s sales operations in the Americas. Jeremy, who now becomes vice-president of sales in the region, will be based in Fairport, New York and assume responsibility for the sales and marketing strategies across all Bosch Security Systems’ products.

Independent consultant SGW Associates has announced the appointment of Roger Bird as associate director. Roger joins the Sheffield-based practice following 35 years’ employment in the Security Department at global financial banking service group Lloyds TSB Bank plc. Roger is an active member of ASIS International’s UK Chapter 208 and The Security Institute.

i-Watch (UK) – a subsidiary of i-Watch in Ireland, one of Europe’s leading Remote Video Response Centres – has appointed Mark Thomas as managing director. Previously managing director at TeleEye (the CCTV recording and transmission solutions specialist), Mark is now keen to push i-Watch (UK)’s combination of BS 8418 certification, 24/7/365 CCTV and intruder alarm monitoring services with off-site back-up to clients.

British Homeland Security and Immigration Removals specialist the ITA Group, based in Aldershot, has appointed David Smith as its next chief executive. David was one of the founding directors of ITA, and has successfully managed the operational and training teams across the Group’s businesses. He succeeds Mark Ayers.

Traffic Safety Systems (TSS) – part of the AD Group of Companies – has appointed Phil Frost as its UK sales manager to further expand an already successful mobile CCTV business in the police, emergency services and local authority sectors. Phil brings an impressive track record to the role, having been involved with the motor vehicle industry for more than 37 years (17 of them in a technical sales environment). For the past decade Phil has been at Federal Signal, the visual and audible warning signals developer.

Axis Communications (UK) has welcomed Daren Lang to the position of business development manager. Daren takes on full responsibility for developing the network video solutions provider’s sales activities with installation and integrator partners, while at the same time spearheading the Axis Architecture and Engineering Programme. The latter is designed to support network architects, engineers and consultants responsible for designing and specifying IP-based security systems.

Panasonic System Solutions (Europe) has appointed six new students to strengthen its EU marketing team. Gillian Littler, Luke Whitehouse and Kerry Long are working at Panasonic’s UK headquarters in Bracknell, while Jennifer Davidson is based at the Hamburg hq, Rubina Khan in Barcelona and Kirsty Murray in Paris. The six students are the latest addition to a rapidly growing central marketing team.

Paxton Access – one of the UK’s market leaders in the design and manufacture of intelligent access control systems – is continuing to enjoy strong expansion. As such, the company has appointed John Harkins as field sales engineer for Scotland. John will be providing product training and advice when tendering quotes, and will act as the local source of information on Paxton’s system solutions for end users.

Checkpoint Systems – a leading manufacturer of identification, tracking, security and merchandising solutions for the retail industry and its supply chain – has named Javier Santafe as its newly-appointed marketing manager for Europe. Santafe has previously held senior management positions with multi-national companies including Mapfre Insurance and RACC.

Anti-counterfeiting laser marking solutions provider DataLase has appointed Mark Muir as business development manager for the UK. With over 25 years’ experience in senior sales roles for companies including Destiny Wireless and VideoJet Technologies, Mark brings a range of skills to his new role. In his previous position as regional sales manager for VideoJet, Mark helped to generate a 125% increase in turnover across the central England region in just five years.

Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies has completed a reorganisation of its sales structure. Phil Street has been appointed UK sales director and Nick Watkin becomes the new UK business development director.
