Distribution deal for G4S and Milestone
The move, which follows similar agreements in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, gives 80,000 Danish G4S customers the ability to replace their traditional analogue systems with a Milestone platform.
“We consider the collaboration with Milestone as an investment in the future that will enable us to gain market share in a growing industry,” said Kim Egelund Hansen, procurement manager at G4S Denmark.
“From a technical point of view, it keeps us at the forefront of IP-based solutions. Our sales team has been trained and certified in Milestone XProtect, and we are ready to put every ounce of energy into it.”
Milestone’s open platform, IP-based software allows users to integrate megapixel cameras with other business systems like access control and cash machines.
Developers claim it offers greater security and costs less to operate.
For G4S, the move is said to represent “a giant leap” into the digital surveillance market, which is expected to be worth more than $480m by 2010.
Mads Bo Frederiksen, territory sales manager at Milestone Systems, said, “We are strengthening our sales channel in Denmark and will reach more customers.”
“G4S Denmark is now a certified partner and [we] can use this expertise to develop advanced digital security solutions with XProtect.”
