Most of the airports are located in Scandinavia, but the single largest project involves supplying a new CCTV system at Abu Dhabi International in the United Arab Emirates.
VDG said it won the contracts based on the strength of its Digital Intelligent Video Architecture (DIVA) IP video platform, which features a combination of video management software and intelligent cameras.
Using content analysing algorithms, DIVA systems can identify and recognise faces, licence plates and other objects. This information is then used to support and optimise live video surveillance, before letting operators perform a ‘smart search’ on previously recorded footage.
The first airport systems are already up and running and the rest of the projects are due to be completed in 2008.
