As shallow as they come: SP anti-terror bollards

ATG Access – the UK maufacturer of high security and counter-terrorism bollard systems – has announced the latest addition to its SP range of anti-terror bollards which comes in the shape of a shallow foundation solution.

According to ATG, the new bollards will successfully protect approaches to buildings, drop-off and passenger loading areas at airports, ports, shop fronts, sporting arenas, office buildings and other locations where vehicle bombers might presently have little or no obstacles in their way.

With a foundation of only 20 cm (eight inches) deep versus a typical 1.5 metres (or five feet), ATG’s shallow mount bollards remove the major concern of underground services for planners and specifiers, and may be installed on pavements, on top of bridges or other locations where standard products may be impossible to deploy.

The bollards have been tested in accordance with the PAS68 Standard. View the test footage at www.atgaccess.com
