Bosch appoints Wong as MD
He is responsible for all sales operations in the UK, and succeeds Jeremy Hockham following the latter’s promotion to take over BSS’ sales operations in the Americas at the end of 2007.
Wong has worked in the security industry for more than 22 years, and has particular expertise in CCTV and access control. His new role will include building upon the Bosch ‘brand’ as a leading technology provider within the security industry. Bosch believes his expertise in specific product areas and in distribution will be valuable in delivering further growth and expanding the company’s existing BSS Dealer programme.
“My challenge is to further strengthen the name of Bosch as a credible player in high quality CCTV, intrusion, fire detection and PA/VA solutions,” he says. “We are well on the way to achieving this goal, but there is still much to be done, and it is encouraging to have such a strong management team around me to help drive the business forward.”
Having qualified as an electronics engineer, Wong joined CamEra Holdings in 1985, spending 10 years with the business and rising to Project Engineer before moving into product marketing with Sensormatic. After a successful period with Sensormatic, he joined Norbain in 2001, ultimately becoming Divisional Director of Branded Products and Technical Services.
For the past eight years Wong has sat on both the CCTV Section and the CCTV Technical Committee of the British Security Industry Association, which he chaired for over four years. He has also served as Chairman of the Electronic Security Section (CCTV) and UK CCTV Expert for the British Standards Institute.
