Former vice-president of global sales and customer services, Farkash replaces Roni Kass (ioimage’s founder and CEO who has taken on the role of president in order to focus more on strategy, corporate vision, long-term growth and enhancing the company’s leadership position).
Under Kass’ direction, ioimage grew from its inception in 2000 to become a leader in the area of intelligent cameras and encoders. Its solutions now account for over 37% of the market (according to IMS). The company operates in 35 countries and boasts more than 100 partners.
Business development, sales and marketing
Farkash has over 14 years’ experience in business development, sales and marketing in the security and surveillance fields, as well as in semiconductors, IT and communications. Prior to joining ioimage, he was vice-president of sales and marketing at Unisor Design Services (where he played a pivotal role in converting Unisor from a subcontracting and outsourcing business to a company specialising in high-end devices for military and security market applications).
Farkash has also held management and sales positions with a number of leading high-tech companies, including NICE Systems’ video security division, IBM and Applied Materials.
“I feel confident handing over the role of CEO to Zeev, who has played an important role in the company’s development,” said Roni Kass. “He has the right skills to lead ioimage on towards the attainment of its goals. This change in management will enable me to focus my efforts on generating further growth opportunities for the company.”
Video analytics that work
In response, Farkash told SMT Online: “The team’s confidence in my abilities to act as ioimage CEO is a great honour. There’s more of a demand than ever before from end users for video analytics that work. I plan to leverage that strong market momentum. We’ll be expanding ioimage’s foothold in Asia and North America.”
