Advanced WDR camera unveiled at Sanyo

The VCC-W8775P incorporates a new ‘retina-morphic’ processing algorithm which equips the cameras with capabilities approaching those achieved by the human retina.

“We developed this new algorithm following extensive research into the human optic system,” said David Markland, national sales manager for Sanyo’s CCTV division. “It’s quite remarkable. Using a model of the human retina’s dynamic range adjustment ability, the algorithm provides groundbreaking corrective effects that we feel set new standards for the CCTV industry.”

Wide dynamic range sensor

In addition to the ‘retina-morphic’ algorithm, the VCC-W8775P takes full advantage of a newly-developed CMOS sensor featuring an extremely wide dynamic range that far surpasses conventional cameras.

A radical linear output method is used to deliver images of exceptionally high quality in varying light conditions. Those images are further enhanced by the VCC-W8775P’s built-in digital noise reduction function, which ensures that high quality images are captured at just 0.8 lux.
