According to Northern Security managing director Paul Hopper, the economic downturn is providing an upswing in demand for his firm’s services from both private and public sector clients, and Hopper is hinting that more buy-outs are in the pipeline.
This latest acquisition was made in Stockton, where Northern Security has taken over the Hayde Security business and customer portfolio. Hayde’s guarding team will also be retained to work across premises in the North East, ranging from offices through to shopping centres and sports grounds.
New officers recruited for expanded portfolio
Meanwhile, Hopper has stressed that additional new officers are being recruited at Northern Security’s headquarters in Upperby, Carlisle, and at both of its regional offices in Manchester and Middlesbrough.
Hopper feels that the Hayde Security business is a perfect match for Northern Security in that it combines high standards of client care with forward-looking policies on staff training and management.
“We have signalled our willingness within the security industry to talk about possible acquisition with any competitor which can demonstrate sound business credentials and a proven track record,” Hopper explained to SMT Online. “The current economic climate is leading many organisations to review their security arrangements and make sure they’re receiving the best value.”
