Raytec illuminators light up construction sites
Protector has built its reputation securing sites for many of the UK’s top construction companies, including Balfour Beatty, Laing O’Rourke and Carillion. The company uses the Raytec illuminators to ensure high definition CCTV coverage during hours of darkness.
“We offer clients complete CCTV and security protection solutions including installation and off-site monitoring so it is essential that we ensure effective lighting in all conditions,” said Protector Group executive director Derrick Halliwell.
“The reason we always use Raytec illuminators is that they are adaptable during installation, they are durable, and they perform well.
“Durability is very important because construction sites are typically very tough environments. Also the illuminators have to cope with being moved around a lot from site to site – it’s not just plug, play and forget”.
Raytec also claims that a site using 10 mains driven bulbs can expect to make a potential cost saving of up to GB pound 4,500 per year by switching to Raytec’s low energy illuminators, equating to GB pound 45,000 over 10 years.
That based on 4,400 hours usage per year at 10p kw/hr, with labour costs calculated at GB pound 40 per bulb change.
Raytec says its infrared illuminators are “particularly suitable for construction sites in residential areas where light pollution has to be kept to a minimum”, while its white-light illuminators are “ideal for colour CCTV image capture, and feature quick start, high-output performance which means they can be used as a highly effective detector-activated deterrent”.
Sites recently secured by Protector Group using Raytec illuminators include schools, hospitals, commercial premises and new housing developments.
“Our clients depend on us to provide full protection for their sites round-the-clock and the Raytec lights play a very important part in the solutions we offer,” said Halliwell.
