ECAbid.co.uk is a new, online auction site where Fire and Security Association (FSA) and Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) members and trusted, validated, industry partners (such as manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors) can sell surplus stock and equipment to the wider marketplace.
Primarily designed to list, sell and buy electro-technical items, members and partners can also use the site to list and sell other business-related items such as vehicles, office equipment and furniture, tools, plant, workwear and safety equipment.
Other, more general items may be sold on the site providing they are genuine, legal, are not subject to any sales restrictions and have been verified by the site’s managing agent.
Although the listing and selling of items is restricted to members and the aforementioned partners, the site is also open to non-members for buying, in turn increasing the potential for vendors to promote and sell their surplus items to a larger audience.
Demonstration of commitment to members
Stefan Hay – head of the FSA and ECA marketing – told info4security: “ECAbid.co.uk is a new venture for the two associations, but there has already been considerable interest. People have advertised equipment, publications and even jobs.”
Hay added: “The fact that the site was launched at the request of members means that we have, once again, responded to their needs in a timely and dynamic manner. This demonstrates still further our commitment to members in these very difficult times.”
As an introductory offer, this service is currently free to FSA and ECA members and their partners.
