The partnership is designed to provide distributors, resellers and retailers with a complete and secure multi-camera surveillance system with greatly improved ease of use and versatility.
Y-Cam managing director Devin Chawda said: “The full integration of Y-Cam with the VioStor NVR series gives the market a first-to-market solution that is both affordable and reliable.
“Very simply, and perhaps most importantly, it makes it possible for users to record live video remotely without the need to have a computer switched on at all times.
“The strength of our offering is its flexibility, which allows the user to choose different bundles – or combination packages – of products that best meet their requirements in the Small Office Home Office and Small Medium Business markets.”
A statement said: “An example of this new business partnership is the Y-Cam QNAP NVR-104 bundle. Retailing at less than GB pound 1000, the total package contains four day/night cameras, NVR and external enclosure units.
“Since the cameras record directly onto the NVR, there is no need for a computer to record the video. Thanks to the NVR’s built-in multi-camera software, the cameras can be managed and the recorded video can be played back easily.
“All cameras can be viewed locally and remotely on one screen via the NVR hardware device, and most NVRs offer instant back-up of the stored video on dual hard disk for redundant protection against disk failure.”
Y-cam believes that this solution concept can only be beneficial to all parties. “It presents some great selling angles that offer real differential for resellers and distributors, as well as healthy margins on the cameras and hardware.” said Chawda.
