“With some 170,000 buses and coaches in the UK, and 3.2 million lorries and light goods vehicles, there is a huge market for mobile cameras and recording solutions,” Basil Singh, managing director, EverFocus Electronics UK, said.

“We have introduced an extensive range of high performance cameras and DVRs designed to offer a comprehensive surveillance solution for any vehicle. We are looking forward to talking to specialist integrators and installers about the excellent opportunities that our new mobile range provides.”

The new products include two vandal-proof analogue mini-domes. The EMD302 has been made for inside and features a 1/3 inch high resolution sensor designed to deliver 540 TV lines in NTSC or PAL picture formats.

The EMD300 internal/external mini-dome has an IP66 rating for water and dust protection, a Super HAD II sensor for low light images down to 0.05 lux, day/night functionality and 550 TV lines resolution. Both mini-domes measure around 87mm in diameter and use 12 volt DC power.

EverFocus also has a ‘wedge’ shaped mobile camera, dubbed the EMW330. It been designed for internal or external use, and can be mounted on the side, rear or on a ceiling of a vehicle.

Measuring 105mm in diameter the EMW330 offers day/night functionality, infra-red illuminators and built-in heating in an IP67 vandal resistant housing. It has been made with a 1/3 inch Sony Super HAD CCD delivering 520 TV lines, the unit is powered using 12 volt DC with a maximum power consumption of eight watts.

The latest collection also includes cameras designed to capture incidents happening around a vehicle and to also help drivers improve their view whilst driving.

Internal/external cameras include the AVM-730C and AVM-730BV for back-view and for day/night external surveillance for use at front and rear of buses.

A total of three mobile DVRs have also been brought to market to support their camera range. They offer H.264 compression, shock and vibration resistance with ‘G’ shock sensors, easy GUI set-up using external screen, individual 12 volt camera power outputs, removable standard SATA 2.5 inch/3.5 inch hard-disks and recording rates up to 960fps at CIF resolution.
