Large Security Installer of the Year
This prestigious accolade is presented to the practitioner or company that has shown the very highest standards of workmanship and customer support during the last year. It’s open to individuals or organisations employing 41 or more people
ADT Fire & Security
During the past year, ADT has installed state-of-the-art systems for many high profile customers with significant contractual demands. A key example is electrical retailer Comet. ADT won a tender to upgrade Comet’s existing intruder estate to IP, as well as improve the older audio systems in place by installing Galaxy panels. The project was customised to standardise 150 of Comet’s estate of 249 stores, drastically lowering maintenance costs and streamlining processes.
ATEC Security
Risks are mitigated by ATEC Security with meticulous detail at design stage and thorough preparation prior to installation, including labelling individual cables to minimise confusion. There are four types of SLA: four, eight and 16-hour response times plus 24-hour support. Customers report any faults via a dedicated Help Desk, e-mail address or web portal that tracks case status. Data can be exported for personal records and is displayed in a graph format.
Littlewood Fencing
Littlewood Fencing invests much time and effort in ensuring that it’s always at the forefront of the security fencing industry. Maintaining excellent customer relations and adopting a ‘can do’ approach helps the company achieve this aim. All installations are monitored and a rapid response remediation service set in motion if needed. In recent times the company has worked on projects with Balfour Beatty plc/Carillion, HMP Cookham Wood and Wales and West Utilities.
OpenView Group
OpenView Group has worked on the Mersey Tunnel project, installing a CCTV system that uses megapixel technology. In fact, the scalable digital CCTV system covers all divisions of MerseyTravel including vehicle tunnels, bus stations, transport interchanges and ferry terminals. This was a challenging project with installations undertaken overnight when the tunnel is closed. A high level of project expertise was required to manage Health and Safety.
Reliance High-Tech
Reliance High-Tech has installed an integrated electronic security solution for Heron Tower, built by Skanska in London’s Bishopsgate. The first City landmark tower to be completed for many years, it maximises flexibility of workspace and aims to provide the best possible working environment. The integrated IP solution consists of access control for approximately 80 readers, pedestrian turnstiles, 138 surveillance cameras and a dedicated intercom system.
SECOM Plc
SECOM installed additional fixed and IP-linked indoor and outdoor cameras, recording equipment and control systems at the enlarged ExCel events venue in London Docklands and the newly-completed International Convention Centre, integrating the bespoke equipment with existing systems. SECOM is fulfilling an ongoing maintenance contract to ensure these sites meet the required security standards for their role as major public facilities and Olympic Games venues.
Stanley Convergent Security Solutions UK
Glasgow-based West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative’s door entry and CCTV systems have been supported by Stanley Convergent Security Solutions for 15 years. Most recently the system has been extended with 86 vandal-resistant domes now in the back stairwells. Images are fed to a Stanley-manufactured GDX5 concierge with full alarm reporting which also controls the door entry system. Nine low rise blocks also now benefit from a GDX Indigo door entry system.
Thompson AVC
Nottingham’s Rosehill School couldn’t operate safely with the best interest of its pupils in mind by using a standard fire and security configuration, so Thompson AVC worked with the school’s management, main contractors, M&E contractors, Building Control and fire officers to deliver an appropriate and effective solution. The updated site boasts integrated IP access control and CCTV using Cat 6 cable infrastructure for standard data and comms operations.
Small to Medium Security Installer of the Year
This award is presented to the individual or company that has shown the highest standards of workmanship and customer support during the last 12 months. It’s open to individuals in SMBs or those companies employing up to 40 individuals
Concept Smoke Screen
As an ISO 9001:2008 company, Concept Smoke Screen provides a quality assured process of dealing with customers right from initial enquiry through to survey, installation and post-sales service. Performance is assessed on an annual basis by way of feedback questionnaires sent to customers. The 80% satisfaction requirement of the ISO standard is consistently achieved. A demonstration of customer satisfaction is the renewal of a two-year contract to service intruder alarms and smoke screen solutions at 600-plus Boots stores.
Contact Security
Contact Security prides itself on offering an excellent service to its customers. Full details are taken on enquiry and entered into a central database. Relevant details are available to all members of staff internally and externally throughout the customer life-cycle on a remote basis (via PDA/laptops) and by way of office-based computers. All communication, alarm activations, call histories and equipment installed is recorded within this database. A dedicated project manager or engineer will be assigned for each installation.
JLG Security Services
At JLG Security Services the surveyor maintains control of each job until handover. This ensures that there are rarely any issues with completed works not meeting client expectations. Customers are actively encouraged to complete project feedback forms. One of many successful installations of late has been at the IO Centre where there are 22 industrial units on one estate. The brief was to install a low cost wireless system for each unit featuring communications to an ARC without the need for a telephone line installation.
Scott Total Security
Scott Total Security was awarded the tender to undertake the installation of 149 access control doors over 38 Great Western Ambulance Service sites. The system is fully-networked and controlled by a central server to address stock theft and time attendance issues on behalf of the NHS. Scott Total Security boasts its own fully-trained service engineers who are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. ‘Fully comprehensive’ and ‘Labour only’ are the two types of maintenance contract on offer from the company.
