David Evans from the BSIA explains ‘Bridging the Gap’ – I4S video
David Evans from the BSIA spoke at IFSEC International 2012 about how the security industry is set to benefit from the London 2012 Olympics.
Amongst other topics David spoke about Bridging the Gap, an initiative that was designed to ‘bridge the gap’ required in order to train enough security officers and stewards for the Games.
This has been an incredibly successful initiative that has seen as many as 9,000 unemployed young people receive door supervisor training.
The initiative uses 92 full time education colleges and a jobs fair after the Games is hoping to help the 100,000 young people working at the Games to find jobs using their new security qualifications.
This will provide a compelling legacy for youth unemployment at the Olympic Games. David tells us more in the video below.
