The moment a man had a lucky escape as he avoiding being hit by flying debris during a lightning storm was caught on CCTV.
Bernard Williams, from West Yorkshire, was leaving his car during a thunderstorm and, seconds after he walks away from his car, a lightning blast sends a huge part of a nearby tree flying across his driveway.
The impact was so large that the ten-foot piece of wood smashed the rear window of his car and flew down an alleyway by his garage.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mr Williams said: “What happened did leave me a bit shocked but I didn’t even know it was a lightning strike. For some reason I thought it was a sonic boom that had shattered the back window of the car.”
