Kings Security Systems awarded ISO27001 accreditation

ISO27001 accreditation for the company – which only last week won the Large Security Installer of the Year category at the 2012 Security Excellence Awards – was achieved within only five months and to the very highest of standards.

Steve Evans, Kings Security Systems’ commercial director, enthused: “ISO27001 is a highly regarded and key business certification demonstrating credibility and trust. We’re delighted to have achieved this accreditation. It represents a firm commitment to our customers, employees, trading partners and stakeholders that their information, its availability, confidentiality and integrity is protected.”

The ISO27001 accreditation gives Kings even greater credibility as the largest independently-owned security provider in the UK. It will open up new avenues for the organisation to take on an even wider range of security contracts, including projects within the Government and companies in the financial services sector.

Kings’ IT director Andrew Oliver added: “The accreditation reinforces that we are meticulous over all security policies and procedures, adhere to all relevant laws and regulations and comply to the legal, physical and technical standards involved in our information risk management processes. It was achieved within an incredible timeframe, and that’s a real credit to the commitment of the Kings team and our partnership with consultancy firm Jomu.”

Effective partnership with Jomu

In partnership with Jomu, over 650 action points were completed and more than 800 pieces of evidence gathered for assessment through a project team consisting of Kings’ directors and managers alongside representatives from Jomu.

The process followed complex, intense and rigorous procedures including information gathering, completion of a new Compliance Management System, training and surveys for over 400 personnel, auditing, pre-assessments and an in-depth, four-day assessment.

Kings will hold the ISO27001 award for at least three years, with annual external audits being made to assess and recertify the accreditation, ensuring strict adherence to rigorous security standards.

Kings’ internal auditing team will also ensure that all processes and procedures within its Information Security and Compliance Management System are rigorously audited across Kings’ Solutions Group.
